NDE Analytical uses the following techniques to provide a wide variety of problem-solving services.
Services offered using GC/MS:
- Analysis of gas and liquid samples including extracts of solids using a variety of organic solvents.
- Analysis of organic volatiles and semi-volatiles in petroleum products, lubricants, industrial materials and many others.
- Qualitative and quantitative analysis of contaminants at sub parts per billion (ppb) levels.
- Identification of unknown compounds using extensive digitized mass spectra reference libraries (Wiley and NIST).
- Method development and literature search.
Services offered using FTIR spectroscopy:
- Identification of unknown materials in a solid, liquid or gas form.
- Recording fingerprint (spectrum) of an unknown material and matching it to that of a known reference material.
- Analysis of low level contaminants at about =/>10 μm size using FTIR microscopy.
- Identification of surface contaminants using the diamond ATR and reflectance attachments.
- Qualitative and quantitative analysis using liquid cells.
- Identification of components in complex mixtures using specialized software.
- Method development and literature search.
Services offered using HPLC/GPC:
- Qualitative and quantitative analysis of polar and non-polar organic compounds.
- Identification of unknown components using UV-Vis spectroscopy on the fly, including the PDA and fraction collection with FTIR.
- Characterization of aqueous and organic industrial formulations such as cleaning solutions, health care products, etc..
- Contaminants analysis of medical devices, and industrial products.
- Characterization of polymers including oligomers.
- Molecular weight distribution, Mn, Mw, Mz and PDI.
- Method development and literature search.
Services offered using UV-Vis and Fluorescence Spectroscopy:
- Analysis of organic and inorganic compounds that absorb or fluoresce in the UV-Vis region of the spectrum (200–800 nm).
- Analysis of impurities in liquid samples at the parts per billion (ppb) levels.
- Purity verification of compounds.
Viscosity Measurements:
- Viscosity measurements (cPoise) of fluids using the Brookfield DV-II+ viscometer.
- Kinematic viscosities in cStokes of soluble polymers using the Ubbelohde viscometer.
